The Estadio Balear today hosted the fixture between Atlético Baleares and Real Oviedo Vetusta in Matchday 11 of Grupo I of the Segunda División B. The Asturian B team ended up losing 3-1.
Emilio Cañedo's side emerged for the game at the Estadio Balear with the clear intention of turning the point earned against Ibiza last weekend into a good one. They did so in the knowledge of the ability and fine form of Atlético Baleares. The hosts took the lead, but Rober Alarcón then equalised from the penalty spot. However, the home side then grabbed a couple more goals in the final stages of the first half, and the teams went in for the interval with the score 3-1. The B team tried to hit back in the second half, but were unable to do so, as Atlético Baleares made things very difficult for Emilio Cañedo's team. Amez, Steven and Alarcón all had chances to cut the deficit, but couldn't manage to hit the back of the net.
Real Oviedo Vetusta were unable to pick up any points from their trip to the island, but will have another opportunity to add to their tally next weekend against Internacional de Madrid. The fixture will kick off at 12:00 on Sunday at El Requexón.
