Real Oviedo defender Javi Fernández appeared in the Press Room this afternoon, following the team's return to training.
Having returned to the starting eleven last Friday against Almería, the centre back stated that "I'd be happier if the team had won, but we put in a great effort.  I hadn't played for a while.  The whole team did what the Coach had told us to beforehand and it was a shame we couldn't get the goal to give us the win.  Having not played for so long, I felt it in my calves.  I had muscular fatigue, but I'm sure I'll feel better after the next few days of training."
With his gametime and the return of Arribas, Javi Fernández celebrated the fact that "the more competition, the better.  The Coach will decide who's going to play.  I was training and keep working to do as well as I can and await my opportunity."
In addition, the central defender analysed the Almería match, explaining that "I didn't start too well, but as time went by I grew in confidence and personality.  It's a shame that I got injured when I was at my best and couldn't continue.  The Coach had spoken to me several times.  He said that I should keep being myself and keep training as I had been doing, and then I would get my opportunity, and that I should give everything so that he can pick me more often."
Finally, regarding the state of the team heading into the trip to Huesca, Javi Fernández commented that "we knew that we'd face a strong team against Almería and we did a lot of things well, but we were lacking the goal.  The trip to Huesca will be difficult, because in my opinion it's one of the best teams in the league, but we will go there with a lot of hunger to get three points."
