Real Oviedo Vetusta went into Matchday 13 in Grupo 1 of the Segunda RFEF in search of three points. Having drawn 1-1 against Club Marino de Luanco last time out, the B team travelled to Aranda de Duero to face Arandina CF in what was an important match, as they looked to rebuild confidence and move away from the relegation zone. Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco, Charbel, Aimar, Jaime Vázquez, Osky, Yayo, Izan, Dieguito, Omar Falah, Miguélez and Enol.

Vetusta were looking to make a statement, and it was clear to see right from the kick-off. The Asturians emerged the stronger side, and Omar Falah would go close in the 4th minute. A fine Santi Miguélez pass saw the left back go through one on one, but his effort struck the bar. To make matters worse, Arandina would take the lead shortly afterwards. Just a few minutes after Marco had made a fine save, the hosts were awarded a penalty for a Yayo handball. The home team converted from the spot to make the score 1-0 in the 13th minute. Jaime Álvarez's team looked to hit back, but they were unable to find the equaliser before the interval.

The coach made changes at the break, bringing Lamine and Xavi Sola on for Charbel and Omar Falah. Just after coming on, in the 55th minute, Xavi Sola would have the chance to apply the finishing touch to a fine team move, but he was denied by the keeper. However, Vetusta would finally get their reward in the 82nd minute, when Xavi Sola turned the ball home from a corner to make the score 1-1. The home team looked to hit back, and Marco was forced to work hard to hold onto the draw. The referee added six minutes, but the score remained unchanged.

Real Oviedo Vetusta picked up a point today against Arandina CF. They will look to secure a victory against Covadonga at El Requexón next time out.
