El Requexón today provided the backdrop for the fifth match of the season in Grupo I of the 2ªRFEF, with Real Oviedo Vetusta falling to a 2-0 home defeat against Ourense.
Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco; Lucas Pariente, Lucas Laso, Javi Moreno, Gabri Rabanillo; Yayo, Mangel, Alex Cordero; Víctor Blanco, Sesé and Mario Fuente, in a match in which mistakes would prove key.
The first half was an even affair. Vetusta emerged more strongly for the encounter, but Ourense gradually managed to counteract the home side's play, in a first half of very few chances. The match was paused for several minutes following a collision between Yayo and Varela, with the latter being taken to HUCA hospital for treatment.
Masca, Izan and Charbel came on at the break, as the B team looked to change the game and find an opportunity to open the scoring. Lucas Laso saw a red card after bringing down an opponent who was one-on-one with Marco. Ourense were able to make the most of their numerical advantage and take the lead as Los Azules pushed forward to try to break the deadlock. The Galicians added a second goal in stoppage time. Miguel Cuesta and René were the other substitutes used.
Vetusta will have an opportunity to bounce back from this afternoon's defeat when they travel to face Real Avilés Industrial next weekend.
