Real Oviedo returned to the Carlos Tartiere today with the idea of getting back to winning ways. Following last week's defeat in Valladolid, Los Azules were up against Levante UD and in need of three points against a promotion rival in today's Matchday 29 LaLiga Hypermotion fixture. Head Coach Luis Carrión opted for a starting eleven made up of Leo Román, Viti, Oier Luengo, Dani Calvo, Abel Bretones, Luismi, Colombatto, Cazorla, Masca, Sebas Moyano and Borja Bastón.

Real Oviedo controlled the possession and dominated the encounter during the opening 45 minutes, but found it difficult to create clear chances. The visitors, meanwhile, looked to threaten on the counter attack. In the 33rd minute Real Oviedo had their first real opportunity, with Masca winning the ball back in the away team's half before firing over the bar. In the 37th minute Dani Calvo met a Cazorla corner, but his goalward header was kept out comfortably by the keeper. Just when it seemed like the two teams would go in for half-time with the score still 0-0, Adrián de la Fuente turned the ball home from a pre-prepared corner kick to give Levante the lead, in what was a huge setback for the Asturians just before the interval.

Los Azules demonstrated their desire to give it everything during the second half, and in the 54th minute Oier Luengo converted the equaliser to bring Real Oviedo back into the encounter, with the majority of the second half still remaining. Five minutes later, Masca headed home from a fine Moyano assist to make the score 2-1 and send the Carlos Tartiere wild. However, in the 76th minute Carlos Álvarez brought the score level at 2-2, from what was the away team's only attack of the second half. Nevertheless, Los Carbayones did not stop fighting and looking for the winner, and in the 81st minute Dani Calvo leapt highest in the box to head Colombatto's corner into the back of the net. The goal was enough to give Real Oviedo the three points and keep dreaming, just outside the playoff places.
