Borja Sánchez has come home. The Oviedo-born midfielder's loan at Club León has come to an end, and he is now returning to Real Oviedo to strengthen Luis Carrión's side in this January transfer window. In addition, the academy product has extended his contract with Los Azules, signing a new deal which will run until June 2026.

The 27-year-old midfielder was born on 26th February 1996 in Oviedo. He joined Los Azules in the 'Cadete' age group, before moving on to sign for Real Madrid's academy. He would represent Fuenlabrada and Mallorca B, before joining back up with our club, signing for Real Oviedo Vetusta in 2017/2018.

After securing promotion with the B team, Borja made his first-team debut in a fixture against Nàstic de Tarragona in 2018/2019. Following his spell in Mexico, the academy graduate now returns to his beloved club for the second half of the season. He is the club's second January signing, after the announcement of Jonathan Dubasin a few days ago.
