The news that all Oviedistas wanted to read this preseason has become a reality, with Borja Sánchez renewing his Real Oviedo contract. The academy product wanted to stay 'home' and negotiations were only ever going to end in one outcome.
The 'Mago de El Requexón' is 26 years old and has signed a new deal until 2025. He will once again be able to delight the fans, who can purchase season tickets from this Thursday.
The midfielder, who is rejoining training this Tuesday at El Requexón, declared himself "very happy and hungry to start" having sealed the agreement to stay at the club he has grown up with.
Borja Sánchez joined the club in the Under 15 age group, before moving on to represent Real Madrid, Fuenlabrada CF and RCD Mallorca as he progressed in his career. He later returned home, leading the Real Oviedo B team to promotion in May 2018. From then he has seen a rapid rise, moving into the first-team squad and gradually becoming a key man.
Borja Sánchez will now be tied to his beloved club for a further three seasons, becoming a vital part of Bolo's side for the new LaLiga SmartBank campaign.
