The Press Room at El Requexón today provided the backdrop as Borja Bastón was presented with the prize for September's 'Jugador Cinco Estrellas', in what was the second time the monthly award has been given this season. The striker, who has been a key man in recent weeks thanks to the goals and hard work he has brought to the team, was recognised by the fans, who selected between the five players nominated by the beer company on their Twitter profile @futbolmahou.
Borja Bastón then answered a selection of the questions put to him by fans of Los Azules on social media:
What does receiving this prize mean to you?
I am very happy. It's a reward for the team's work.
How are you feeling at the start of this season?
Happy with the work the group is doing. We are on the right track, but we still have a lot to improve on and we have to keep going.
What has surprised you about Oviedo?
I knew about the club, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the matchday experience and how the fans live for it.
Who was your idol when you were little?
Not really idols exactly...maybe more role models. My father, who was a player. And Fernando Torres, for what it means to be a player who comes through the Atlético de Madrid academy. And Ronaldo Nazario.
Are you focused on the match against Sporting?
We are aware of what match it is, and how nice it is for the fans and for us. And very focused.
How did you feel when you scored on your first start?
Very happy. I'd been working well, and it was the result of that work.
