The Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today hosted the official presentation of Borja Bastón as a new Real Oviedo player.
The forward was joined by the club's Acting President, Manuel Paredes, who welcomed him, thanked him for his willingness to join the club, and wished him the best of luck for his time at Real Oviedo.
The new striker began by analysing the Real Oviedo project, describing it as "ambitious and nice. I really like it. I hope to stay here for the duration of my contract. I'm coming in to contribute hard work and hunger, and to help my teammates."
Regarding the references he has received from former teammates, such as Saúl Berjón, the forward said that "they've told me excellent things about the club, the fans, and the city. I'm looking forward to experiencing it in person."
Asked about the advantage of having a former striker as his new head coach, Borja reasoned that "that helps. He knows the areas of the game I have to improve on and it's something to be grateful for."
Finally, discussing pressure and a goal target for this season, Borja Bastón stated that "I've had pressure my whole career and it's nice to have it. I want to help the team with goals, but I also have to contribute to the team in other ways. I don't set a number, but the more the better. I have to take it day by day, training session by training session, in order to prove myself in the matches. We have to win matches and finish as high up the table as possible."
