Following a week of rest, the Real Oviedo first team has resumed activity ntoday at the NMR Carlos Tartiere, where the members of the squad underwent the necessary medical tests.
After the tests, Real Oviedo Captain Alejandro Arribas appeared in the Press Room at the club's home stadium and responded to the questions put to him by members of the media.
The centre back began by discussing the Christmas holiday week, saying that "it's been different. We've had to look after ourselves in order to come back in perfect conditions and to avoid catching the virus, so as not to hurt the team."
The return to work sees Real Oviedo begin to prepare for the fixture against RCD Mallorca on 3rd January. Arribas described them as "one of the best teams in the division. They're up there for a reason." However, he also admitted that "we are excited to win. These would be three important points for our ambitions and we are going to go for it. The important thing is to get points. We have worked on everything well this season. We are on the right path and growing. There is more than half a season left still and we can still achieve anything."
Alejandro Arribas also evaluated the season so far for Ziganda's side, saying that "the team wasn't able to get a victory at the start. We then improved and kept working, and the results arrived. We finished in good form, we all grew, and we are trying to improve in order finish as high up the table possible. We want more, that's what we work for. We will go for it. We are going into the remainder of the season with excitement and desire. We know how we work and we put pressure on ourselves. The team is getting better and better and is competitive in every match. At the end of the day, we don't feel inferior to anybody else."
Finally, regarding his feelings on a personal level, the defender highlighted that "I'm not giving myself a mark, that's up to the Coach. I am going to keep working, improve, and keep going like this. I will be prepared to do my job. A new year is starting, and I hope that it's our year."
