In the 66th minute of the Real Titánico v Real Oviedo Vetusta match, Samuel Nnoshiri came on for his debut for the side from the capital of Asturias. His debut for the B team served as a visual demonstration of the agreement between the club and Academia Ajuwa Real Oviedo, where young Nigerian footballers develop their talents under our academy's methodology.
Iván Palacios, Head of the International Area, described his debut as "very important, not just for Samuel but also for what it means for the other players, and its significance in the Academy and in Nigeria." The Asturian stressed that "such agreements also involve social collaboration in Africa, which is something important to keep in mind." Finally, Palacios hopes that "through training and the development of talent, footballers can move through the different levels of our academy, and that in the future some of them can make their first-team debuts at the Carlos Tartiere."
Along with Samuel, another five Nigerian players have been working with the B team and Under-19 side, and are currently waiting for the relevant bureaucratic steps necessary in order for them to make their debuts with their respective teams in the coming weeks.
The Real Oviedo Foundation has agreements with five academies spread around the world, and is working to seal new agreements with other centres in the coming months. As part of the Foundation's project for brand expansion, it carries out training and social projects, in which football and the club's core values are crucial pillars.
