Almada: "We are taking steps forward, growing as a team"
"I'll stick with the team's solidity both offensively and defensively. We pressed well up front, and at other times we defended better. Beating Celta dignifies the victory; what I liked the most was the collective aspect," highlighted the blue coach.
Real Oviedo secured a resounding victory at Balaídos after defeating Celta de Vigo 0-3, in a match that left their coach, Guillermo Almada, very satisfied. He particularly highlighted his team's collective effort during the post-match press conference.
The Oviedo coach emphasized the solidity shown both in attack and defense: "I am pleased with the team's solidity both up front and at the back. We pressed well up high, and at other times we defended better. Beating Celta dignifies the victory; what I liked the most was the collective aspect. Individual performances stood out thanks to that teamwork. We need to keep going in the same direction."
Almada also explained the adjustments made after halftime, which were key to sealing the match: "We tried to correct a few things that were concerning us. The best way to defend is to keep pushing forward. We did that at the start of the second half, with personality, and we found the third goal that gave us peace of mind. The result helped us."
Finally, the coach wanted to highlight the fundamental role of the blue fans, who once again supported the team away from Carlos Tartiere. "As I said before, the support from the fans at home and away is unconditional, and we feel backed. The players are conveying things, but the commitment is one hundred percent at all times. We are making progress, growing as a team," he emphasized.
With an eye already on the next match against Villarreal CF, Almada stressed the importance of maintaining this collective level and detailed that "we need to keep going, already thinking about what's next. If we have collective performances like today, more opportunities will open up for us."
