El Requexón today hosted Matchday 23 in Grupo II of the Tercera RFEF Division. Real Oviedo Vetusta would play out a 1-1 draw with CD Tuilla.
Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco; Pablo Menéndez, Lucas Laso, René Pérez, Osky; Joselu, Mangel, Yayo; Alex Cardero, Chus and Mario Fuente. The main news was a change in the playing licenses of Alex Cardero, Lucas Laso and Yayo, with all three moving up to become full-time members of the B-team squad.
The visitors dominated the first half, working hard to prevent Real Oviedo Vetusta from putting together the passing football they have been playing all season. CD Tuilla took the lead in the 21st minute, making the most of a defensive mistake from the team from the capital of Asturias. After the setback the B team started to look to threaten Aitor in the away side's goal, but they found themselves frustrated by the opposition defence time and again, who managed to deal with the attacks launched by Jaime Álvarez's lads. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-1.
Real Oviedo Vetusta emerged in a determined fashion for the second half and showed it right from the opening moments. They took control of the play and began to threaten in the opposition half. Los Azules clearly dominated the second half, with quick transitions in play to break through CD Tuilla's lines. Eloy Ordóñez came on at halftime. The second change saw Javi Cueto introduced, then Iván, and finally Victor Matovu and Isaac. The B team won a late penalty when René Pérez was brought down in the box. Javi Cueto's spot kick was kept out by the keeper, but the striker made no mistake from the rebound. Vetusta kept going to the end, but fortune wasn't on their side.
Real Oviedo Vetusta will now enjoy two rest days. On Wednesday they will begin preparations for next weekend's match in Villaviciosa.
