Real Oviedo goalkeeper Joan Femenías appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this morning following the weekend's victory against Almería.
Having bounced back from the defeat in Tenerife to add three more points to the tally, the keeper explained that "getting the win at home was crucial to show how we are doing. The team reacted. It says a lot about us, and about the character and ambition of the group. The victory strengthens us and shows us the path to follow."
Saturday's triumph helps with the weekly work, as the team begins preparations for Sunday's fixture against Amorebieta. Regarding the upcoming fixture, Femenías highlighted that "it's a key match. We are finding it hard away from home, but in order to be up there we have to pick up points at the Tartiere and away from home. We are taking it one game at a time to achieve our objectives. We have to gain confidence and move up the table."
With respect to the confidence he has received from the coaching staff, the keeper reasoned that "being able to work with a Coach who trusts in what you are doing and values your daily work reassures you and helps you keep going. The Gaffer does it with all of the team. It's the way to reach your best level." In addition, regarding his feelings on a personal level, Femenías stated that "I am delighted to be here. I want to be the goalkeeper and to be at a place where people live football with passion. I am open to whatever may happen within the fans, but I feel comfortable. I am going to keep growing and improving to help the club."
Finally, asked about his future, the Coach highlighted that "I am happy here and I want to keep growing. I am happy in Oviedo and I believe that we will do what is best for everybody."
