To start the press conference, the Brazilian attacker analysed the match against Racing de Santander and his role in the team: “We played well for the first half, we were getting forward well. But then in the second half we suffered more. When Fede (Viñas) came on, I wasn’t expecting to play on the left side, I was a bit tired. Playing in this position isn’t new for me, I played as a winger until I was 19. I tried to help the team where I could."
As for the upcoming match this weekend against Real Zaragoza, Alemão pointed out, “we are focused on winning on Sunday, that’s what we want. The Gaffer asks us to not lose our heads, we’re fired up, but the fans even more so. We have to win and keep moving forward, but Zaraagoza will want to do the same.”
When asked about the feelings inside the changing room, the striker responded, “every player, in his role, has to give his best. By doing so we will be one step closer to achieving our goal. We have to keep calm, give our all in training, and be focused. We have to be stronger than ever.”
Regarding his personal feelings, and in relation to the injury to his groin causing problems, Alemão reassured that, “for some weeks it was bad, I was making a sacrifice to play. It was good that Fede could play, even though I always want to be ready to help. For this reason there’s a squad with depth and quality.”

Finally, when asked about the high level of pressure looking ahead to reaching their goals, Alemão commented, “it’s normal that we as players want to do better than we did the year before. The fans want that as well. If we are able to do better than last year, we’ll get promoted. Everyone has this hope. We’ll do everything we possibly can to reach promotion.”
