Real Oviedo winger Aarón Ñíguez, made an appearance before this evening’s scrimmage against Ponferradina.

The player from Elche, who started the third week of the preseason together with the rest of his companions, stated that, “I have good feelings and I’m excited to train and compete. We go through weeks of hard work to be able to start the season fresh. Today we have a match, which is the real kind of competition to help us get ready to compete.” In addition, when asked about his preference to play an attacking position in Juan Antonio Anquela´s schemes, Aarón stated that, “On the field I feel comfortable. Everything depends on the team dynamics and how the match is going.”

When asked about the competitiveness on the team and how it affects the group, the winger stated that, “All competition is good, it makes us perform better. The group has a good attitude so let’s hope that can be reflected in a high level of play.”

Concerning his personal objectives, the player from Elche explained that, “I just take it one step at a time. I want to be in the best conditions possible for the first match and then take it week by week.” In addition, referring to the possibility of Elche making a deal to gain the services of the Carbayón forward, Aarón stated that, “I try to stay out of those things. It’s great to know that they want you, but I’m happy in Oviedo.”

Finally, when asked about the asymmetric calendar, the winger stated that, “It’s going to be weird, but we’ve got to get used to it. Beforehand we can tell it’s going to be a difficult division with big names. We just need to treat it like it’s normal and focus on Extremadura,” concluded the player from Elche.
