A shirt with his name and the number 1 on the back was placed in the middle of the field. So were one of Joan Femenías' goalkeeping gloves, and another of Gabriel Brazâo's. A candle, and a bunch of blue and white flowers. Today saw our tribute to Francesc Arnau.
Directors, coaching staff, players, and employees gathered in the centre circle. Following some words from Club President Jorge Menéndez Vallina, a minute's silence was held, broken up by applause. This was a simple and humble act to honour his name, but one which was full of affection. We remembered the good, warm, committed and smiling colleague and person that he was. As a professional he achieved glory between the posts, forming a career through effort, sacrifice, and hard work. He gave us the gift of marvellous memories which we have to remember, so as to ensure that his memory lives on. We will always keep the memory of his smile in our hearts.
Today saw pain, sadness, and a lot of affection as we remembered him. Thank you for everything you gave us, Francesc. As you would say, and as you would want it to be: we keep going. May you rest today, and forever, in peace.
