This afternoon's match at Santo Domingo was never going to be a simple one. The Asturians were up against a recently relegated Alcorcón side, and went into the match with more than 500 Oviedistas in the stands and four wins out of the last four. It would prove a tough ask, but Los Azules would eventually come from behind to claim victory.
Tarín started in defence once more, while Carlos Isaac came in at right back and Luismi partnered Jimmy in midfield in the absence of Brugman. Los Azules had the better chances of the first half. A Borja Bastón header and a Javi Mier shot went close, before the latter had a goal ruled out for offside.
Alcorcón pushed harder in the second half, and would eventually take the lead. Ziganda turned to his bench, first to bring on Matheus and Joni Montiel, and later Pombo and Hugo Rama, and the comeback would finally arrive. Zarfino was dismissed for a second yellow, before Matheus grabbed an equaliser. In the 90th minute Hugo Rama made the score 2-1 to give Real Oviedo three very important points. The team and fans celebrated together at Santo Domingo before travelling home happy.
