Real Oviedo claimed a point at the Ramón de Carranza as a prize for their effort and faith. The Asturians fell behind on the scoresheet after conceding a penalty, but never lost belief that a draw, at least, was possible.

Anquela opted for the same starting eleven for a third consecutive week, as the heat again played a key role. The match began with the temperature above 30ºC, and Real Oviedo produced a good first half, albeit without threatening Cifuentes' net on too many occasions. Los Azules attacked down the wings a couple of times, but they couldn't find anyone to finish their moves off. Alfonso Herrero had to make a fine intervention to deny a powerful strike from Cádiz. Carlos Hernández saw an effort go just wide under pressure, as he met Saúl's free kick, in what was one of the clearest chances for Anquela's men. Toché struggled to evade the Cádiz central defenders. A fine pass from Mossa found the Real Oviedo captain, but he was robbed of possession after attempting a dribble at the edge of the opponent's box.

Anquela introduced some freshness to the team in the second half, bringing on Joselu up front in place of Toché, who was exhausted from the heat. Aarón also came on in place of Bárcenas on the wing, and the first chance of the half fell to Joselu. The forward collected Tejera's pass but was denied by Cifuentes. Carlos Hernández then gave away a penalty, which was converted by Alex Fernández with fifteen minutes remaining. In added time, Mossa played a ball into the box, which was cleared by the defence, but Tejera was there to fire home with his left foot and earn Real Oviedo a draw.

The team will return to Oviedo by coach, and the next training session will be at 18:30 on Monday at El Requexón.
