The fourth matchday in LaLiga Smartbank saw Real Oviedo travel to the Carlos Belmonte, where the side picked up a 1-1 draw against Albacete.
Los Azules opted for a similar starting eleven to that which played last weekend against Espanyol, with Marco Sangalli replacing Javi Mier. Ziganda's side took charge of the game in the opening stages, looking for the pace of Viti and Marco Sangalli on the wings. Obeng had a chance from a Juanjo Nieto cross, but the Ghanaian couldn't get in front of Tomeu Nadal to shoot. Obeng did then hit the post from a free kick crossed into the box, before Arribas converted the rebound to open the scoring. However, Arribas was dismissed minutes later for a foul. Bolaño came on for Viti to bolster the defence. Despite the red card, the Asturians kept their heads up, and although Albacete began to dominate the ball, Real Oviedo continued to create danger and threaten a second goal. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-1.
The second half was heavily-affected by refereeing decisions. Albacete fired the first warning shot, with Femenías forced into action by an Ortuño overhead kick. Borja Sánchez then had a chance to make the score 0-2 but was denied by Tomeu Nadal, just before Diamanka equalised. Juanjo Nieto
then saw a second yellow card for bringing down an Albacete player, with the referee awarding a penalty. Femenías managed to deny Ortuño's spot kick. Ziganda brought on Carlos Hernández and Nahuel from the bench. Albacete then began to make the most of their even greater numerical
advantage, threatening the Real Oviedo goal. However, Ziganda's side managed to protect their goal from the home attacks, keeping the scoreline at 1-1.
Real Oviedo will face Sporting de Gijón next weekend at the NMR Carlos Tartiere. The match will kick off at 21:00 on Sunday.
