Today saw Real Oviedo travel to the Suárez Puerta for the penultimate preseason test. They played today in front of the travelling expedition from Grupo Pachuca, who had just landed in Asturias, and who went straight to watch the friendly in Avilés.

Bolo opted for a starting eleven made up of Braat; Tarín, Viti, Borja Sánchez, Jimmy, Luengo, Obeng, A.Aceves, Marcelo, Hugo Rama and Lucas. In front of a practically full Suárez Puerta, with more than 4,000 in attendance, the opening chances went the way of Los Azules. Marcelo Flores had one opportunity following some fine individual play, while several crosses did not find the finishing touch. Avilés took the lead in the 17th minute. Marcelo Flores tried to hit back with a fine strike, but the home keeper held on at the second attempt. The teams went in for halftime with the score 1-0.

Bolo changed his entire eleven for the second half, bringing greater directness and a goal. Borja Bastón tucked home a one-on-one at the start of the second half, and went close to a second minutes later, but his lob grazed the post. Sergi Enrich then forced the home goalkeeper into a good save. It would be Marco Sangalli who did add the second goal, converting a perfect cross into the box from Bretones.

The final test of preseason will see the side travel to Santander to face Racing, this Saturday at El Sardinero.
