Vetusta were unable to overcome Compostela today and fell to a 1-0 home defeat. The B team is now in a very difficult position and has to wait to see the results from the Gimnástica de Torrelavega and Racing Club Villalbés matches in order to know whether their survival hopes are still mathematically alive.

The first half didn't see too many chances for ether side, in what was an even encounter. Miguélez had the best chance for the hosts, but the goal did not arrive, and there was further bad news with Izan being forced off the field.

The match became very difficult after the interval, with David Grande opening the scoring for the visitors. The SD Compostela forward capitalised on his first chance of the game to beat Marco with a strike on the half-turn. Vetusta looked to bounce back from the setback, but couldn't find a way through. They appealed for a penalty for a possible handball, but the referee waved away the claims. The minutes ticked by, and in the 75th minute Iván missed the best opportunity of the encounter. A good cross from Lamine fell to Iván, but his strike was blocked by Pato Guillén. Cheli and Omar Falah came on in the final stages as the team looked to turn things around, but the score remained the same.

Today's loss was a tough defeat for the B team to take, and it leaves survival hopes dependent on the results of Gimnástica de Torrelavega and Racing Club Villalbés tomorrow. If either of those two sides win then Real Oviedo Vetusta's relegation will be mathematically confirmed.
