It is always a joy to carry out one of the most cherished traditions of the season, and to do it in a historic way, before starting the new league season. Real Oviedo has ventured today to Covadonga to make an offering to La Santina together.

The procession was headed by President Martin Pelaez and the Board of Directors. The men’s first team, led by Alvaro Cervera, attended alongside the women’s first team, also led by Maria Suarez and the entire technical staff. This is the first time in which both the men’s and women’s teams, led by the directors, have carried out this visit which has undoubtedly reflected the strength and unity with which the club looks forward towards the 23/24 season.

Thus, in three Alsa buses provided by the department directors of the company, a considerable group representing Real Oviedo arrived in Covadonga a little after noon. They attended a traditional offering in La Santa Cueva, filling the holy cave. Blessings from the Abbott of Covadonga and the Club Chaplain, Santiago Heras, were laid at the feet of 'La Santina' by the hands of the captains of both teams.

Then, and after the traditional family photo, the expedition of oviedistas headed towards Llanes for a lunch enjoyed at the Hotel Silken Spa La Hacienda de Don Juan.
