This Thursday saw Real Oviedo fulfil one of the most Asturian traditions of the season. Led by Jesús Martínez, team and directors visited the Royal Site of Covadonga, visiting first the Basilica and then the Holy Cave to make an offering to 'La Santina'.
With a white and blue blanket to mark the occasion, captains Borja Bastón, Jimmy, Dani Calvo, and Tomeu Nadal were charged with placing the bouquet of flowers at the feet of the Virgen of Covadonga and receiving her blessing. The squad finished with a group photo, carrying the tradition on for another year.
The group then moved on to Cangas de Onís, enjoying a meal at La Peskatería, close to the Roman bridge.
