Real Oviedo Vetusta made their 2º RFEF Division debut today at El Requexón with a victory over SD Compostela.

 

Jaime Álvarez selected a team featuring numerous Under-19 players, with the starting eleven comprised of Marco, Osky, Javi Moreno, Lucas Laso, Yayo, Mangel, Alex Cardero, Víctor Blanco, Sesé, Mario Fuente and Nacho. The first half saw a strong shout for a penalty on Mario Fuente turned down, before a defensive mix-up allowed the Galician side to open the scoring. The B team had to try to fight against the tide as they went in search of an equaliser before the break.

 

Things continued in a similar vein after the interval, with Vetusta threatening but without creating clear opportunities. Izan and Enol came on from the bench, and eventually the equaliser would arrive. Compostela player Martín saw a second yellow card as Los Azules won and then converted a penalty, with Alex Cardero the scorer. Jaime Álvarez's team were not happy with a point, however, and went in search of more. The victory would arrive in the 90th minute, with Sesé heading home from a left-wing cross.

 

Real Oviedo Vetusta were able to secure the first three points of the season in their league debut today.
