Abanca Riazor today played host to the first encounter of the Trofeo Teresa Herrera, with Real Oviedo coming up against CD Leganés. The Asturians would end up falling to a 2-1 defeat.

Javi Calleja opted for a starting eleven made up of Braat; Lucas, Luengo, Dani Calvo, Pomares; Paulino, Del Moral, Dotor, Sebas Moyano; Álex Cardero and Alemao. The team knew how to fight back after falling behind within the first minute of the match, looking to width to catch out the Madrid-based side.

CD Leganés took the lead right at the start of the encounter, when Miguel de la Fuente beat Lucas to the ball and set up Brasanac. Despite the setback, Javi Calleja's side did not let their heads drop, and began to dominate the ball, albeit without creating too many clear chances. However, after the thirty-minute mark a fine Pomares cross was met by Dotor, whose effort was blocked by Javi Hernández, but Alemão converted from the rebound to level the scoring.

No changes were made at halftime. CD Leganés looked to threaten down the wings, but Real Oviedo were compact in defence and didn't give away clear opportunities. Calleja brought on first Lemos, Rahim, Borja Sánchez, and Paraschiv, and later Sibo and Castri. During the final stages of the match CD Leganés capitalised on a move down the right, with Miguel de la Fuente heading home the winner. Los Azules kept pushing in the final minutes, with Álex Millán coming on, but were unable to find an equaliser.

Javi Calleja's side will play the final match of preseason tomorrow, facing Unionistas de Salamanca in the third-place playoff at 16:00.
