It wasn't to be. Real Oviedo Vetusta played their second league encounter of the season this Sunday, coming up against Gimnástica de Torrelavega at El Malecón. Jaime Álvarez's side were looking to bounce back from last weekend's defeat against Racing Club Villalbés. The coach opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco, Osky, Jaime Vázquez, Berlanga, Sesé, Yayo, Nacho Estrada, Diego Menéndez, Miguélez, Darío and Enol.

The match got off to the best-possible start for Los Azules, as they took the lead before the ten-minute mark. Enol fired home into the top corner from outside the box to make the score 1-0 to the B team. The Asturians put in a professional performance and maintained the clean sheet throughout the first half against a Gimnástica side who were pushing for an equaliser.

Jaime Álvarez made a change during the interval, bringing on Charbel in place of Diego Menéndez. Marco made several fine saves to keep the score 1-0, but the hosts were eventually awarded a penalty. Josemi C. converted from the spot to make it 1-1.

Real Oviedo Vetusta added a point to the tally and will now start preparations for next weekend's fixture against Real Valladolid Promesas.
