Real Oviedo center midfielder Ramón Folch stopped by the press room at El Requexón after this morning's training session.
The Catalonian seemed "excited to compete, because we have been working hard for a month and a half thinking about this game. The team is eager and ready. We're very competitive, with a clear concept and a solid team, and we're going to go for everything".
With regards to their first rival in LaLiga play, Ramón Folch classified Rayo as "an opponent that was a candidate to ascend last year, but who didn't quite make it. I think they are going to make it difficult for us in this first game. We will try to do the best we can to take home three points".
Concerning the competition to earn himself a spot in the center of the field, the Catalonian indicated that "more players and greater competition means there will be higher performance within the team. I imagined that this was a big club, but it's even bigger than I had expected. I'm eager to compete, to see the stadium every week and the supporters who will help us win games".
Finally, regarding the team's defensive work, Folch highlighted the necessity to "be a very solid team, to prevent the opponent from scoring, and later to build up the attack".
