Real Oviedo forward Samuel Obeng appeared in the Press Room ahead of the Elche fixture.
What did stepping up to the starting eleven in your favoured position in Zaragoza mean to you?
- For me it was important that the Coach went for me in a game where we had a lot at stake and I was happy to be back in my normal position. I'm here to contribute to the team.
What does Cuco ask of you when you play as a striker? Has the Coach been important for you to pick up confidence, despite having played so few minutes all season?
- He asks me to contribute my strengths. Aerial play, running into space, playing with my back to the defenders... Bringing some freshness and energy to the team.
You've played part of the year on the left wing, but Ziganda has played you through the middle in the last two matches. Do you feel more comfortable there?
- I feel comfortable as a "9", but I will do whatever he asks of me. I have to do my job and give everything.
What do you expect from next season? What are your objectives?
- We still have a game left, the rest comes after that.
Have you been told whether you will be a first-team player next season?
- I don't know anything, I just want to finish this match in the best way possible. We are focused on the present.
Do you think there is a good foundation to aspire to greater things, given how many players there are coming up from the B team?
- If they move us up then it's because they see us as being good enough and capable of being here. Those of us from the B team are here to play our part.
