The Press Room at El Requexón today saw Nahuel Leiva speak to the media, ahead of the latest training session for Ziganda's side.
Following the cup elimination against Málaga, the Argentine admitted that "we were very excited at the prospect of making the next round, but we went into the final stages with ten men and it hurt us. It's time to turn over a new leaf and prepare for Saturday. It would have been nice to get through, but we have to focus on Saturday and on getting a positive result."
Saturday's fixture will mark the halfway point in the league season for the side from the capital of Asturias. Regarding the team's aims for the second half of the season, Nahuel highlighted that "we could still do anything, we are in midtable. If we win on Saturday we will bring ourselves into the fight. I think that with hard work, humility and commitment we can move up the table. It's true that we deserve to have more points than we have. We have had good and poor runs, but we have half a season to go. We have to improve and take a big step forward in the remainder of the season."
With respect to his feelings on an individual level, the winger stated that "I came here to get gametime and be an important player. I've played some good matches, I try to give it everything, and I hope I can show even more. Helping the team is the most important thing."
Finally, asked about Borja Valle and the increased competition in attack, Nahuel reasoned that "it's always positive when players who are as good as Borja come in. He's an important player for the team, he increases the competition, and he will make us progress in the same direction."
