Real Oviedo midfielder Jimmy appeared in the Press Room this morning at El Requexón, talking to the gathered members of the media. The Asturians have now begun another week's training, having secured an important victory against the league leaders last time out.
"Matches against teams up at the top are going well for us. The leaders came here and look, we won in the last minute. The opposite was happening to us at the start of the season and being able to live this now is fantastic."
The team is now focused on its next league encounter, and Jimmy did not hesitate in highlighting the importance of the match against CD Eldense. "There are a lot of matches between promotion rivals (this weekend) and getting three points would see us settle in a playoff place. The derby is coming up afterwards, but we have to just focus on Eldense for now. We have been on a good run, but we have our feet on the ground."
Regarding his individual form, the academy product reasoned that "this is nothing new. Every year I have to win my place several times and fight for it in every match. It is what it is. I am used to it and I accept it. If you look at the midfield they are all incredible players. I have to keep fighting as I have been up until now."
