On this day, four years ago, thousands of Real Oviedo fans from all over the world breathed a sigh of relief; their team had been saved. Thanks to the help of many people from all over Asturias and the world, and to the arrival of Grupo Carso, we all managed to help Real Oviedo to continue writing its great history.
The salvation of Real Oviedo that stirred the whole planet was a turning point in the history of our club; in addition to initiating a recovery in the competitive and economic aspects, our entity became universal.
Since then, thousands of shareholders around the world enjoy the victories and suffer with the defeats of our team, hundreds of fans arrive to the Carlos Tartiere stadium from different points of the planet to visit their team’s manor and dozens of people maintain contact every week with the club through e-mail (supporters@realoviedo.es ) to announce their trip to Oviedo, ask for help to organize their stay, book tickets for a specific match, ask for their supporter’s card or for the shirt of their favourite player.
The entry of the Grupo Carso as shareholder of the entity in 2012 meant that Real Oviedo fans located in countries from the five continents could see the future of their club secured and look to the horizon with optimism.
The reality in the course of these four years has proved them right and today they can enjoy a club in the process of total economic recovery and with much higher hopes and ambition for their team than in the past.
The Grupo Carso's commitment to Real Oviedo and all its supporters has been evident throughout this time in a constant and unequivocal way and has become a paradigm in Spanish football.
All of you, shareholders of Real Oviedo, wherever you may be, you are part of the great Real Oviedo family spread throughout the world and we feel your support very close to us although you are very far.
Therefore, because you are a very important part of our club, which makes us different and unique, the club is working to launch several initiatives, which will be announced soon, to increase the connection with all fans scattered throughout the planet.
