Real Oviedo travelled to Andalucía for today's Matchday 12 LaLiga Hypermotion fixture against Cádiz CF. Following the convincing victory over CD Mirandés at the Carlos Tartiere, Los Carbayones went into the match with morale high and the aim of picking up back-to-back wins. Javi Calleja made several changes, opting for a starting eleven of Aarón Escandell, Rahim, Luengo, Calvo, Lemos, Colombatto, Del Moral, Cazorla, Sebas Moyano, Chaira, and Alemao.

Real Oviedo were not comfortable out on the pitch during the first half. The hosts looked to dominate from the outset, while the Asturians tried to threaten on the counter. Sebas Moyano was the first to fire a warning shot, with his effort going wide after some fine individual play. Alcaraz and Ocampo both hit shots from the edge of the box for Cádiz, but they were denied by Escandell. Javi Calleja's side would then have their best chance of the first half. Alemão went through one-on-one, but couldn't quite get the ball out of his feet. The Brazilian rolled the ball across to Sebas, but the winger's strike was deflected out for a corner. In first half stoppage time Carcelén capitalised on a defensive error to make the score 1-0 to the home team.

After the interval, Cazorla would have a good opportunity. The ball dropped to the midfielder following a fine run from Chaira down the wing, but his shot was kept out by the keeper. Calleja turned to his bench as he looked for an equaliser, bringing on Hassan, Cardero and Sibo. Despite the team's efforts, the leveller did not arrive. Meanwhile, Cádiz saw a second goal ruled out for a foul in the build-up, before finally sealing the victory with an 86th minute goal from Chris Ramos.

The match ended 2-0 on what was a bad afternoon for Real Oviedo in Cádiz.
