Today's Matchday 30 fixture in LaLiga Hypermotion saw two promotion candidates go head-to-head, as Real Oviedo travelled to Anduva to face CD Mirandés. Los Azules went into the encounter with the objective of bouncing back from last weekend's 2-1 home loss against Dépor. Javi Calleja opted for a starting eleven made up of Aarón Escandell, Nacho Vidal, Dani Calvo, David Costas, Rahim, de la Hoz, Colombatto, Seoane, Chaira, Viñas, and Alemão.
The opening minutes were played at a high intensity, with both teams fully aware of the importance of the match. Viñas, back in the starting eleven, sent the first warning shot, but his left-footed effort went wide. The rain was relentless during the first half, as Real Oviedo looked to get forward and threaten. There were not many chances during the opening 45 minutes, although the Asturians went closest to breaking the deadlock, with Seoane's fine free kick striking the crossbar. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-0 and all to play for.
After the interval, the hosts took the lead from the penalty spot. Following a handball by Rahim in the area, Panichelli stepped up and converted from the spot. Sibo, Hassan, Cazorla, and Paraschiv entered the fray in an attempt to change things, but the equaliser did not arrive. Seoane's long-range effort was denied by the keeper, before Alemão had the best opportunity in the final minutes. A loose ball fell to the Brazilian forward in the area after the Mirandés goalkeeper had failed to claim the ball, but his goalward shot was blocked by a defender. The home team went close to extending their lead, with Reina's shot hitting the woodwork.
The final whistle saw the match end 1-0 at Anduva, leaving our side on 50 points. Thoughts now turn to Friday's home fixture against Elche CF.
