Real Oviedo defender Dani Calvo appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this morning as the first team went back to work.

With a few days having now passed since the Real Valladolid defeat, the centre back analysed the encounter, admitting that "we did well during the opening thirty minutes. We pressed high and were brave and daring with the ball. You could see the Real Oviedo that the Gaffer wants to see. It's true that then, due to tiredness and them pressing us, we became more afraid to lose the ball and we gave it away. It was an even match, but we gave the ball away and they scored a screamer. We went home hurt and suffering."

Asked how morale could be an issue due to the desperation to pick up the first victory of the campaign, Dani Calvo believes that "it could be that some players are suffering from low morale. It's understandable. The Coach is telling us that there are more important things outside of football. We have to clear our heads and be prepared for Sunday. We have to get the three points."

With respect to Luis Carrión's arrival and how the change could alter the team's form, the defender explained that "it's a different proposition. He wants us to bring the ball out from the back, but without taking it too far or taking risks. The Gaffer's teams have always scored a lot of goals, and we hope that happens here too. We have to continue to concede few goals defensively in order to grow and start to score more goals."

Finally, asked about upcoming opponent Eldense, Dani Calvo highlighted that "they've been on a long unbeaten run at home, but we want to dominate and win. We need to pick up the win to help the team's confidence, but we mustn't be frightened by that need to win. We aren't in a good situation, but the confidence the Gaffer gives us is crucial to get rid of any mental pressure. We have very good, highly-talented players in the squad, and as long as we stay calm we can get the three points."
