Real Oviedo captain Borja Bastón appeared before the media at the start of a new week's training at El Requexón.

Following defeat in Eibar, the forward admitted that "we have a bitter taste in our mouths, because we put in a performance worthy of a point and it got away from us. We could have got more."

Despite the setback, the striker reasoned that "we are feeling good. We are competing well and standing up to teams that are up there. We have a team to be higher up the table and now we are starting to push upwards."

Real Oviedo will play the Asturian derby this weekend at the Carlos Tartiere, with the attacker describing it as "special". He stated that "we know which opponent it is and that our fans will be excited. It's still only three points, but it's special for us. We are going to compete, because this team competes well. In derbies there are a lot of emotions involved, but you have to play them with a cool head. It's special and we have to be strong at home. I have a good memory from last year. We won and put in a very good performance."

With respect to the team's improvement, Borja Bastón reasoned that "we were in a difficult situation and then the Gaffer came in. He gave us three rules to follow, and we have grown. He has given us defensive solidity."

Finally, asked about his feelings on an individual level, the striker commented that "I am feeling good. Under Bolo I wasn't able to do preseason and I felt it. In the opening matches I wasn't able to give as much physically as I can now. The team's level has risen and that is good for the players."
