Real Oviedo defender Alejandro Arribas today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón, following the team's return to training.
How do you feel after yesterday's match? How is the squad?
- The squad is always hurt after a defeat. We all want to win and are waiting for Wednesday, when we have a new match and another chance to look for the victory.
What was the team lacking at Butarque yesterday which would have allowed them to bring something positive away from the game?*
- I think the team did well. We were playing against a good opponent and I think that generally we were professional. There weren't many chances and it was even, just like in all of the games we've played. They took their chances though and won the match.
Were you surprised by the Coach's decision to play with three centre backs and change the goalkeeper?*
- Everybody is prepared to play, and everybody deserves their opportunity. It doesn't matter who plays, we are all ready. We were looking to make it easier to defend with the three centre backs.
How do you explain the first Leganés goal?
- It's an individual goal by their forward, who was very fortunate to score. We could have defended it better, we have to improve, and that's what we are going to try to do.
Was the team more uncomfortable due to the ten changes to the starting eleven and having less regular starters? Did the quadruple substitution do more harm than good?
- We will never know. It's easy to analyse matches with hindsight. We are all prepared to play, and everyone deserved their opportunity. With the four substitutions yesterday, the Coach was looking to freshen it up and go for the win.
Are you hungry now for Wednesday to arrive, so that you can try to turn the club's form around?*
- We want Wednesday to get here, to go out there with everything, and get the three points. We are in a relegation place and we need to win to get out of there and turn our form around.
It's clear that there are still a lot of matches to go and points to play for, but points lost now will not come back later on. Do you understand that the situation is starting to get worrying?*
- We are seeing that with two victories teams move right up the table. It's all even and any team can beat anybody else. We take it game by game and calmly, and will fight to the death against Logroñés.
Do you think the current situation is similar to that of last season? If you don't think it's the case, what would be your reasoning?*
- No, not at all. The team is working very well, and we have had opportunities to win every single match. Last year we didn't have those chances and we suffered heavy defeats. The team knows what it suffered last season. The coaching staff did a very good job and we have to give them a vote of confidence. The team is going to come through this and we are going to give it everything on Wednesday.
