Álvaro Cervera Named the New Real Oviedo Head Coach

Real Oviedo has reached an agreement for Álvaro Cervera Díaz to join the club as the first team's new Head Coach. He has signed a contract until June 2023 and will be joined by his assistant coach Roberto Carlos Perera Núñez and fitness coach Adolfo Mayordomo Cardín.

Álvaro Cervera is 57 years old and was born on 20th September 1965, in Santa Isabel, Equatorial Guinea. As a player he represented Racing de Santander, Rayo Cantabria, RCD Mallorca, Valencia, Hércules, Águilas and Almería. During his coaching career he has taken charge of clubs including CyD Leonesa, Real Jaén CF, Real Unión, Recreativo, Racing,and CD Tenerife. He most recently spent seven seasons with Cádiz CF, taking the Andalusians from the Segunda División B to the First Division.

The new coach will take charge of his first training session at El Requexón this afternoon, before being presented at 13:30 on Wednesday in the Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere.
