Real Oviedo Vetusta travelled to El Candín this Wednesday to face CD Tuilla, with the match ending in a 3-1 away victory for the club's B team.
Jaime Álvarez rotated his side once more today, bringing in Mangel and Conceiçao and opting for an eleven made up of only Asturians for the second consecutive game. The team knew how to adapt to the uniqueness of El Candín, putting in a professional performance in a game where the hosts did not make things easy.
The B team made a convincing start to the encounter, seizing the initiative from the opening stages and taking the lead in the 10th minute, through a René Pérez screamer. The defender fired home a shot from the edge of the box which left Javi Torres helpless. The team from the capital of Asturias began to move the ball with quick transitions, breaking through the lines and threatening the home team. One such piece of play saw one of the Tuilla defenders turn the ball into his own net. Mangel made it three with a volley from the edge of the area. With a 3-0 lead, Los Azules continued to dominate and enjoyed the clearest chances of the first half. Tuilla then cut the deficit from the spot, and the teams went in for halftime with the score 1-3.
After the break, the hosts got into the game and pressed Jaime Álvarez's side. However, Los Carbayones were very focused in defence and dealt with the danger created by Tuilla. The second half saw a lot of stoppages, with a scrappy game featuring a lot of collisions. The Coach turned to his bench to bring on Lucas Laso and Viti, before introducing Isaac, and finally Chus and Álvaro Pedregal. The match ended with the home team looking to cut the deficit by pressing the B team and crossing balls into the area.
Today saw Los Azules get their first three points away from home, and add a second consecutive victory. The win allows the team to position itself at the top of the table. The B team has no rest now, as it begins to prepare for Sunday's fixture against CD Lealtad from tomorrow (kick-off 12:00 El Requexón).
