Real Oviedo Vetusta today fell to a 1-0 home defeat against Arandina CF. The side had chances to open the scoring during the first half, but a goal from Adrián after half-time was enough to give the visitors victory. Jaime Álvarez's team went into the encounter fully aware of its importance, with a starting eleven made up of Marco, Osky, Marco Esteban, Jaime Vázquez, Omar Falah, Yayo, Izan, Nacho Estrada, Dieguito, Miguélez and Sesé.

The B team started the encounter with clear ideas and conscious of what was at stake. Omar Falah, who was bright down the left wing, featured in the majority of the opportunities that were created, with Miguélez going the closest. The number 10 almost opened the scoring with a fine strike from the edge of the box, but he was denied by a fine save and by the goalpost. The away team barely threatened during the opening 45 minutes, with Vetusta searching for the opening goal relentlessly.

Miguélez got on the end of a great cross from Nacho Estrada to find the back of the net, but his effort was ruled out for offside. However, after the interval the game became a more even affair. Jaime Álvarez's team found it more difficult to create such a threat, and the away team took the lead from their first opportunity of the encounter. In the 72nd minute Adrián fired home a great effort to make the score 1-0. Despite the attempts of the Asturians, they were unable to turn the match around.

Today's result was a setback for the B team, who are now four points off the relegation playoff following Matchday 30 in Grupo 1 of the Segunda Federación. With four matches remaining the situation is now difficult but not impossible, and Vetusta minds are on the coming league fixture against Covadonga.
