A Point which Feels Like Scant Reward

Real Oviedo kept a clean sheet but couldn't find a way to break down Almería in their attempt to get another win at the Tartiere

With Sangalli, Mossa and Lolo all missing, Real Oviedo were unable to use Saúl Berjón as a starter, while Joselu was also forced to watch on from the stands with a knock.  The side welcomed a powerful Almería side, who came into the game in an automatic promotion place, to the Tartiere.
Javi Fernández came in at centre back, Christian moved to full back, Jimmy replaced Lolo, and Omar Ramos and Bárcenas started on the wings.  The early minutes of the match passed without too many chances or attacks for either side, but the much-changed starting eleven grew as the minutes went by. The first chances came from Ortuño meeting crosses from Christian with his head, but they were off-target.  Bárcenas also had a go from outside the box, but failed to hit the target.  An uneventful half ended 0-0.
Real Oviedo increased their presence in the match in the second half, with many attacks and opportunities.  A couple of strikes from Yoel Bárcenas ended in nothing, before he was replaced by Saúl.  Riki also came on for Omar, and the Asturians grew even stronger in attack.  Borja tried his luck but fired wide, before Arribas came on to replace the injured Javi Fernández.  Real Oviedo continued to try to break the deadlock, but they lacked the finishing touch.  The final chance of the game saw Arribas head over the bar from a set play.
Today's draw was a hard-earned point, but it felt like scant reward to Javi Rozada's side, given that they were playing at the Carlos Tartiere.
