The first fixture of the second half of the season took Real Oviedo Vetusta to Galicia today, as the B team made the trip to the Vero Boquete to face SD Compostela.

The team's aim going into the encounter was clearly to continue picking up points. Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco; Charbel, Lucas Laso, René Pérez, Osky; Yayo, Víctor Blanco, Izan; Sesé, Miguel Cuesta and Masca.

The first half began in an unfortunate manner for the side from the capital of Asturias, with Osky being forced off by injury in the tenth minute. Omar Falah came on for his debut in place of the young left back. Los Azules put in a very solid display during the first half, defending well and creating several chances which they were unable to capitalise on. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-0.

Compostela emerged the stronger side for the second half, but the B team knew how to stand strong and prevent the hosts from breaking the deadlock. Masca had the best opportunity for Vetusta, but his effort went over the bar. Álex Cardero, Iván, Santiago Román and Mario Fuente also featured in the match as substitutes.

Today saw Los Azules pick up an important point at a difficult ground, which allowed them to move out of the relegation zone. The B team will face Gimnástica de Torrelavega at El Requexón next time out, with kick-off at 12:00 on Sunday.
