This Sunday of football for Real Oviedo Vetusta saw them visit Miramar to face Marino de Luanco, with the hosts eventually triumphing 2-1.
Javi Cueto had the best chance of the first half, but his penalty kick struck the post. Both sides put in battling, very intense performances, with control of the game being shared between the two teams. Jorge Mier was taken off as a precaution twenty minutes into the match, with David Ámez replacing him. The two teams both had chances to open the scoring before the break, but both keepers were on form, and halftime arrived with the game still goalless.
The B team emerged more strongly than their opponents for the second half and took the lead through a goal from Erik Aguado. Following his strike, the match developed into an end-to-end affair, with Marino and Vetusta both working hard to win the ball back and breaking into the two boxes. Erik Aguado saw a second yellow card from one such attack from the hosts in the 66th minute, and Real Oviedo Vetusta went down to ten men. The final period of the match saw the home team surging forward in attack and grabbing the two goals they needed for the victory. The first goal came from a set piece, before Marino put together a move which opened Real Oviedo up for the winner. Sandoval and Meléndez made their first appearances after joining the B team this week, while Steven also came on at the death.
Real Oviedo Vetusta will resume training tomorrow, as they begin to prepare to face Cultural in the next league fixture.
