Real Oviedo managed to level the score, and could even have got a bigger booty, in a game that got off to a difficult start at the Carlos Belmonte in Albacete, where a much needy  local side had taken the lead soon after kick-off.

Toché starred Real Oviedo´s first attack, but Albacete goalkeeper, Juan Carlos, blocked the chance. On Albacete's first shot on goal, Carmona scored for the local team. Real Oviedo fired back with a shot by Johannesson, assisted by Susaeta, that went narrowly over the bar.  In the following attack, Antoñito scored the second goal for the locals on the 14th minute mark. From then on, Albacete's attacks ceased but Real Oviedo found it hard to have their way in the game. Toché had another opportunity just before half time, but his delivery from the penalty box went high up.

In the second half, Sergio Egea made some substitutions soon and Real Oviedo gradually gained possession. Koné had the first chance, but Albacete's goalkeeper blocked it. Míchel and Cervero subtituted Koné and Edu Bedia so Real Oviedo kept on trying to come from behind in the score. Toché made another header in penalty box but it went wide just before scoring for the first time. Cervero met Aguirre's cross from the goal line for Toché to net in 2-1 from goal box. There was a handball by local player in Albacete's penalty box that referee overlooked, it could have meant Real Oviedo's equaliser, but the Blues went after it well into injury time. Once again, it was Toché who in an acrobatic finish leveled the score. In the last attack of the game by Albacete, Jon Erice was sent off with a straight red card after tripping an opposition player in midfield.
